Privacy Policy

This page is a placeholder. The full policy is being written ahead of the Grateful beta on the App Store. The outline below records what it will have to cover, and the commitments it is being written against. It is not yet a legal document and should not be relied on as one.

The commitments this policy will be written against

• What you write stays on your device. In the first release of Grateful, Moment text, because text and any notes you add are stored locally and are not transmitted anywhere, by any path.
• No accounts. The first release has no sign-in, no email address, and no user profile.
• Product analytics are limited and non-textual. Grateful sends an allow-listed set of events describing that something happened — never what you wrote. No draft text, no keystrokes, no text hashes, no derived labels.
• No advertising identifiers, no precise location, no contacts, and no data sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
• Analytics can be turned off in Settings, and there is a separate control for deleting analytics data already collected. Turning collection off and deleting past data are two distinct actions and will be described as such.

1. Who the data controller is and how to reach us.
2. What the website collects (and what it sets in your browser).
3. What the Grateful app collects, why, and on what legal basis.
4. The complete analytics event list, in plain English.
5. Processors we use, and where data is processed.
6. Retention periods.
7. Your rights under the GDPR and comparable laws, and how to exercise them — including access, correction, deletion and objection.
8. Children’s data.
9. Apple App Store privacy disclosures and how they map to this policy.
10. How changes to this policy are announced.
